Role Description

 Forecasting sales and demand:

  • analyzing historical sales data, market trends, seasonality, promotions, and other factors to predict future demand for products
  •  creates statistical forecasts that estimate upcoming demand and causes of errors to improve the process over time
  •   predict different scenarios, like the launch of a new product or a change in price, to determine the potential impacts on demand.
  • Identifying risks and opportunities. by highlighting risks related to demand volatility, seasonality, promotions, etc. as well as opportunities for growth.

Forecasting inventory requirements:

  • Analyzing sales forecasts, lead times, safety stock needs, and other factors to determine future inventory requirements.

 Managing inventory budgets:

  • Developing and maintaining inventory budgets including targets for investment levels, carrying costs, obsolete stock, etc.

Collaborating with other departments:

  • works closely with sales, marketing, operations, finance, and others to align on the demand forecast. They gather relevant inputs from each group.

 Managing the forecast in a demand planning system:

  • maintain the forecasts in software systems and provide updated versions on a regular schedule, like monthly or quarterly.
  •  Create metrics to measure the supply chain cycle applied efficiently

 Providing visibility into the demand picture:

  •  forecasts with stakeholders across the organization and explain the key drivers behind the numbers. This gives groups like procurement visibility for planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience as a demand planner or in a similar role
  • Understanding of supply chain concepts, principles, and best practices
  • Experience with supply chain planning tools and systems
  • Experience with forecasting techniques and statistical analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint & SAP

Work conditions:

  • Friday & Saturday off
